Our family crest combines the Puerto Rican heritage of Emperor JAIME JAVIER VAZQUEZ SALDANA and the Italian Abruzzian heritage of Empress KATHLEEN LOUISE D’OVIDIO. The crest is displayed on our website and business cards.

- The left upper quadrant is A garita (plural: garitas) at El Morro, the huge fort in Old San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico.
- It is a defensive sentry box, set onto the walls and extending outward from the historic Castillo San Felipe del Morro.
- The left lower quadrant contains the colors of the flag of Abruzzo, Italy in the background and an olive branch in the foreground.
- With olive cultivation tracing its origins to the Romans, Abruzzo has come to be known as the ‘Land of Olive Trees’.
- The right upper quadrant contains the small, two inch coquí frog of Puerto Rico, famous for it’s chirping sound at night and lovely Puerto Rican tropical flowers.
- The right lower quadrant contains a book representing the famous poet, Ovid, of whom the D’Ovidio family claims are decedents of, and the beautiful mountains of Abruzzo, Italy in the background.

- Our national flag is based on the Puerto Rican flag.
- The Lamb of God in the center is similar to the center of the Puerto Rican Flag
- The Emperor’s Saldana family crest also has the Lamb of God in the center.
- The colors inspired by Abruzzo and Spain—blue and gold.
